Zoe Steventon

Home Manager

Zoe Steventon

At Edgbaston Manor, teamwork is at the heart of everything we do.

We support each other to provide the highest standards of care and to make our home a happy, welcoming place for residents and families alike. My door is always open if you’d ever like to share any feedback or simply have a chat.

I’ve been a Registered Nurse for more than 18 years and have more than 12 years of experience working in care homes. Throughout my career, I’ve learned that being a good manager means leading with compassion, patience and resilience, while supporting everyone in the home to do their very best.

Outside of work, I love spending time with my family, especially my daughter, and visiting my favourite place in the world, Cornwall.

Deputy Manager

I’ve been working in the care industry since 2015, and my passion lies in helping people. Supporting individuals living with dementia is incredibly rewarding, and I enjoy being part of Care UK where every day brings something new.

I hold qualifications in Principles in Dementia Care (Level 2 and 3) and Lead Practitioner in Adult Care (Level 4), which prepared me well for my previous role as Memory Care Lead and help supports me in my current role. As Deputy Manager, I’m proud to continue providing the highest standards of care and ensuring every resident’s wellbeing is supported.

It’s a real joy to see residents engaging with others and enjoying the activities and facilities we have at the home.

Outside of work, I love listening to music, travelling, and spending time with my two cats.

Before becoming Customer Relations Manager I started at Edgbaston Manor as a Care Assistant, I was originally drawn to the role and Care UK because I like to make a difference in peoples lives, whether this is with support, or supporting people achieve the unachievable.

As Customer Relations Manager, I believe being approachable, charismatic, and a great communicator are key to helping families feel supported. I love the sense of achievement at the end of the day when I know I’ve made a positive difference.

Being offered this role – and exceeding my own expectations – has been a real career highlight. I feel proud every day to support families through important decisions, helping them feel reassured and cared for.

Outside of work, I enjoy swimming and building with Lego.

I’m thrilled to be part of the team here at Edgbaston Manor – the residents and my colleagues make it such a rewarding place to work.

I live in West Bromwich with my family, and in my spare time, my youngest daughter and I love baking treats for the older people who live in our local community.

I joined Edgbaston Manor in 2020, first as a Care Assistant because I’ve always had a passion for making a positive difference in people’s lives, and Care UK has a strong reputation for delivering person centred care and ensuring residents live a fulfilled life and that’s why I knew it was the place for me.

Since then, I have been given the opportunity to become a Lifestyle Coordinator alongside Receptionist because of my great relationships with the residents and my love for activities and keeping residents engaged. My role is all about working as a team to provide the most meaningful activities, memorable moments and to be part of the creation of our wonderful, homely environment. What makes me proud each day is knowing that I make a difference everyday to our residents and the Edgbaston Manor team, whether it’s support for a relative, getting residents involved in activities or welcome new people into our home I’m here to make you feel apart of our wonderful family.

In my spare time I enjoy going to the gym and spending time with my beautiful two cats; Chai and Rue.

I’ve worked in business administration for over 5 years, and it brings me nothing but joy. My role is all about making people smile, sharing laughter, and helping to create wonderful memories for our residents.

Here at Edgbaston Manor, we truly are one big family, and that sense of togetherness makes every day special. Seeing a resident’s face light up after something I’ve done for them feels like a warm hug in winter – and who doesn’t need one of those?

Before becoming Head Housekeeper, I worked as a Senior Carer, so I understand the importance of creating a clean, welcoming and comfortable environment for everyone.

In my role, it’s essential to have good people skills, a positive attitude and great attention to detail. For me, the best part of the day is when the home looks and smells fresh – it makes me proud to see residents, families and colleagues happy in such a lovely space.

Outside of work, I enjoy candle making, going to the gym, and spending time with my son.
