Getting to know you

We take the time to get to know you and your loved one, this starts from our very first conversation. We get to know what will settle them when moving in, and everything about them. We learn all about your loved one’s life story and personality, so we know what will calm them and make them happy.

Dementia friendly environments

Our immediate surroundings can have a huge impact on our quality of life, particularly when trying to make sense of the world around us. We work with academic partners to create care home environments that help people living with dementia – this can be from colour palettes, textures to even sounds played!

Our people and training

We believe that our team makes Field Lodge a special place to be. Our people have been chosen for their attitude, dedication, and caring nature. The team have undertaken specialist dementia training from Worcester University and Keri our Dementia Coach in the home continues to share new learnings and developments with the wider team. Keri helps staff get to know the resident rather than the disease, doing this via life story, communication, and engagement. One of the techniques being namaste care - the innovative sensory sessions enhance residents’ wellbeing as well as their communication skills and appetite, it’s loved by residents too! 

Support for families and carers

We understand that a dementia diagnosis will affect more than just the individual, at Field Lodge we’re here to support the family too. Seeing a loved one change can be a difficult and heart-breaking experience, we are here if you need a listening ear or if you would like to know more about local support services. Keri, our Dementia Champion is also there for families to learn more about dementia and to help them engage and to continue having fulfilling conversations.

Namaste care at Field Lodge

For those living with dementia, namaste care provides a calming environment for residents to relax, with subtle music and aromatic scents. Namaste care is a loving approach, and residents enjoy special intimate moments with our Dementia Champion Keri, all based around sensory experience: music massage, colour, taste and scents.

This personalised sensory moment brings comfort and pleasure through engagement and improves quality of life.

Care Fit for VIPS

At Field Lodge we are proud to have been internally accredited with the evidence-based, person-centered ‘Care Fit for VIPS’, which stands for ‘valuing’, ‘individual’, ‘perspective’ and ‘social environment’. This framework has been developed by dementia experts at The Association of Dementia Studies at The University of Worcester. At Care UK we work closely with them to create bespoke training programmes that help us provide meaningful and socially-stimulating activities to residents living with dementia.

Residential care

Would your loved one benefit from moving to a warm and friendly home where they’ll enjoy constant care and attention? Everything we do at Field Lodge is resident focused, we take the time to get to know every individual to ensure each day is fulfilling and rewarding for them. We believe in enabling and inspiring residents for them to keep being the best they can be.

Nursing care

Our highly trained and experienced nursing team provides round-the-clock clinical care for residents with a variety of complex needs. We work with you and your loved one to create a tailored care plan which is regularly reviewed. Our close working relationships with local healthcare teams ensures your loved one receives the best possible care.

Nursing dementia care

Our team provides nursing care to residents who are living with dementia. Our highly experienced nursing team is always available and we work closely with local healthcare teams. So if your loved one has additional physical needs in addition to a dementia diagnosis, our nursing colleagues are here to give them first class, tailored care.

Respite care

Caring for an older loved one at home can be physically and emotionally challenging. Making time for yourself is vital to recharge. Our short-term respite care gives you the chance to have a holiday or to un-wind and take some time out. Is your loved one currently in hospital? We also provide convalescent care, supporting individuals to get back on their feet before moving back home.

End of life care

At Field Lodge, we believe that every person deserves to experience a dignified and respectful end of life. We work with you and your loved one, as well as local health professionals and hospice teams, to plan your loved one’s care so they are as comfortable as possible, and wishes are arranged.
