I’m a nurse by training but am an experienced care home manager. I love how every day is different here at Kenilworth Grange. I thrive on change, and I enjoy solving the various challenges that surface on any given day.
Residents of Kenilworth Grange have a wide variety of needs, and ensuring that they’re receiving the best, personalised care in the way they want is a full-time job and a partnership between our home team, the resident themselves and their family.
Ours is a welcoming and fun care home that’s full of personalities. I couldn’t imagine working anywhere else.
I joined Kenilworth Grange in 2017 because I was ready for an interesting and challenging role, and I wanted to be able to make a difference to people’s lives.
I believe that enabling residents to enjoy meaningful and rewarding activities is crucial for their quality of life, and I’m dedicated to making their lives better in any way I can.
I work hard to get to know residents, their lives, likes and dislikes, so we can make every experience as tailored as possible. I also keep an eye on new developments, research and ideas that may be of benefit to residents. I love to see residents singing, dancing, laughing and enjoying themselves.
What’s great about working at Kenilworth Grange is that my team has the full support of the management. They trust us to do a good job. Many relatives are very involved in activities too, which creates a lovely family atmosphere.
I was in the Royal Navy for some time, but when I left I moved into cheffing in the social care sector. I joined Care UK in 2017 because it was one of the best care providers in the UK. It’s certainly one of the best care companies I’ve worked for.
The team here at Kenilworth Grange is second to none – working with them is one of the highlights of this job for me. I also enjoy meal times here, when we get to serve delicious food to residents, and we see their enjoyment.
I believe in constantly aiming for better in terms of meal time experience and quality, and I’m looking forward to changing the menus and service style that we have to become more like a restaurant-style arrangement.
