Victoria Main-Reade

Home Manager

Victoria Main-Reade

I warmly welcome everyone to the home, with a heartfelt pledge that all who stay will "laugh each day and enjoy life each day".

With 36 years of experience in the care sector, I have achieved an Outstanding rating as a Registered Manager. Having been around care homes since the age of seven alongside my beloved mother, care has always been a way of life for me.

My motto, "Life is for living", reflects the vibrant and joyful atmosphere I strive to create at Mead Field Manor. While I may be a manager of few words, I consistently deliver on my promises through my actions, ensuring the highest quality of care for all residents.

Laura Jennings
Laura Jennings
Unit Manager
The most important part of my role as Unit Manager, is to ensure residents receive the very highest standards of care and support.

I always encourage residents to be as independent as they can, to help maintain a positive sense of self. It is really important that they feel treated with dignity and respect.

Before becoming Unit Manager, I was a Senior Care Assistant. I have a level four qualification in health and social care, and I have also had training in safeguarding, and dementia. I am a mental health first aider too.

In this role, you need empathy, compassion and kindness. Good communication skills are important too as you need to build a rapport with people. I feel proud to be a friendly face that residents, their families and colleagues can turn to and ask for help.

I like to uphold the Care UK values of caring, passionate and teamwork. Being positive helps create a good atmosphere which benefits everyone.

When I am not at work, I enjoy going to the theatre – I particularly like musicals. I am an avid singer and sing in the Salvation Army choir every week. I also like to read non-fiction, especially romance, science fiction or crime. As I have four dogs, I walk a lot; I spend the rest of my time with family and friends.

Maintenance Manager
Before joining the team here, I was a Police Officer for 25 years.

I learned a lot in that time, and it taught me a great deal about people, resilience and how important it is to help others.

I am really looking forward to bringing my experience to this role. A lot of my training in the police force can apply to all sorts of situations, like emergency response training, conflict management, safeguarding and working under pressure. I have also completed courses in health and safety, risk assessments, fire and electrical safety.

In this role, you need to be practical, organised and approachable. Being able to think on your feet is also good as you never know what challenges the day may bring; the variety is one of the things I love most.

For me, the best part of the job is interacting with residents. It really does mean a lot, knowing that my work contributes directly to the safety, comfort and wellbeing of everyone here. Whether it’s sorting out a maintenance issue or just taking the time to help someone, it’s incredibly rewarding. It is important to me that Mead Field Manor is a safe, welcoming and well-maintained home.

Outside of work, I spend quality time with my family. I also like to keep fit and regularly do weight training. I’m a keen DIY enthusiast and have a passion for fast cars and motorbikes. But when it’s time to relax, I enjoy gaming and listening to 80s music.
