At Milner House we believe in supporting your loved one to live a fulfilling life, enjoying activities and pastimes that are tailored to their individual interests.
Our weekly programme of activities can range from painting to reminiscence, film shows to arts and crafts. Many residents enjoy playing card or board games.
Our location means that the seaside towns of Brighton and Littlehampton are an easy journey. We like to go on country drives or to a restaurant or garden centre for lunch. During COVID, we’ve done our best to keep life as normal as fulfilling for residents as we can. That’s included adapting activities, such as sports and exercise, so it’s socially distanced and safe, and using home tablets to bring entertainment into the home and stay connected by new means. Of course, when the weather’s good, we’ve also been able to enjoy relaxing and playing games outside in the home’s beautiful garden space.
Some residents find meaning and purpose from helping with small tasks around Milner House itself. We have keen gardeners and flower arrangers, or your loved one is welcome to help with a spot of DIY.
Enjoying good food
Mealtimes are always a sociable occasion at Milner House. Our dining rooms are laid out bistro-style, with small tables all beautifully laid. Your loved one can choose from a range of dishes, and we can cater for different dietary needs and cultural requirements. We sometimes have themed meals too – for example, for Chinese New Year or Burn’s Night.
A part of the community
Milner House has strong links with the community in Leatherhead, which helps residents to feel connected to what’s happening locally.
During COVID, we’ve been able to continue these relationships as well as build new ones, using technology such as tablets as well as traditional methods to keep in touch with loved ones. We’ve even made some new friends in our wonderful community who have supported us during this time.
