Charlotte House is celebrating after it was recognised at a national awards ceremony.
The Residential Care Services (RCS) Stars awards recognise individual and team excellence at more than 100 care homes nationwide across Care UK’s RCS division.
Liliana Onica, lifestyle coordinator at Charlotte House, beat off stiff competition to win the Dementia Champion award, one of 22 accolades handed out during the event.
The panel of judges praised Liliana for her kindness, knowledge and understanding of dementia. However, it was Liliana’s person-centred approach – spending one-on-one time with every resident and getting to know them – which judges felt set her apart from competitors in the category.
Described as an invaluable member of the team, Liliana is supportive and well-respected by colleagues and residents alike.
Zoe Smith, home manager at Charlotte House, said: “The RCS award ceremony was a truly inspirational evening – it was brilliant to hear about the compassion and dedication of team members, as well as the positive impact this has had on residents, enabling them to lead fulfilling lives.
“Liliana always goes above and beyond for the residents and is incredibly passionate about her job. She has an incredible wealth of knowledge when it comes to dementia, and her training has proven invaluable for team members and families alike.
“I would like to thank Liliana and the rest of the team for all their hard work in making Charlotte House a wonderful place to live – every single person is such a valuable part of the team and I really appreciate their commitment to the home.”
