Twelve carers from Mowat Court, have successfully achieved either NVQ level 2 or NVQ level 3 in care.
Achieving level 2 were Rachel Cliff, Louise Fairweather, Kim Brownie, Dot Peterkin and Yvonne Stewart from Care UK, and seconded from NHS Grampian, Jenny Donald and Jennifer Young.
Achieving level 3 were Sammy Brownie, Mandy Taylor and Josie Adams from Care UK, and seconded from NHS Grampian, Siobhan Rae and Michelle Brownie.
Karren Cryle, manager of Mowat Court, commented: “All 12 have to be commended for their commitment and effort in achieving their level 2 and 2 NVQ awards in care. The staff have a range in service spanning five months to 25 years. Initially, many of them felt that they would not be able to do it having been away from studying too long, but their success just goes to show that you are never too old and that study can be exciting and achievable.”
Many of those who have achieved NVQ have now expressed an interest in furthering their studies by achieving higher NVQ awards and nurse training.
