The North East London NHS Treatment Centre, run by Care UK in Ilford, has been rated very highly by its patients.
The latest patient survey results from an independent audit carried out for the Department of Health show that patients gave the service top marks on numerous measures including: overall performance; how they were treated; cleanliness; and the performance of staff.
Key findings include:
• 99.5% of patients said they would probably or definitely recommend the hospital;
• 93% of patients rated their overall care as ‘very good’ or ‘excellent’;
• 95% of patients said they were always treated with dignity and respect;
• 91% of patients said they were given enough privacy when being examined or treated;
• 91% of patients always had confidence and trust in doctors.
Comments from patients included: “The care I got was wonderful”; “The doctors nurses and other staff were fantastic”; “Excellent standard of hygiene and care”; “I felt the centre of attention and the whole thing was a positive experience”; and, “There is a cheerful, friendly atmosphere everywhere you go.”
Cliff Ross, a Romford resident who recently had a cataract operation at the Centre, said: “I can’t speak highly enough of the care and attention I received at the North East London Treatment Centre. The staff were magnificent towards me and I will always be grateful to them. Since my cataract operation my life has been transformed for the better.”
Fasie Smith, General Manager at the North East London Treatment Centre said: “We are very pleased to have had such high ratings and that patients feel they have received such high quality care. The staff at the North East London Treatment Centre are totally focused on delivering exceptional care to our patients and we will continue to make sure that treatment is of an excellent standard.”
