Care UK has traditionally delivered community care services and services for people with learning disabilities through separate operating divisions with each focusing on different commissioner requirements. However, following the departure from the Group of Richard Jackson, Managing Director of Learning Disabilities, Care UK has taken the opportunity to meet a wider range of individual care needs through a single organisation by creating a single Community Services team. The new division will be headed up by Debi Marriott-Boam.
Debi - who joined Care UK nine months ago - has a solid track record in managing multi-disciplinary care and support services. A nurse by qualification she has previously led senior management teams at Nestor, Corinth, Allied Healthcare Group and the UK’s largest not-for-profit provider Anchor Trust.
Commenting on the changes, Group CEO Mike Parish commented: “Spanning both the health and social care sectors, Care UK’s broad but highly complementary range of care services sets it apart from other providers. Care UK prides itself on its person-centred approach to care which ensures that the people we care for have control and choice over how services are delivered to them. The changes we are announcing today will enable us to offer commissioners a single point of contact for the commissioning of a greater diversity of care services in community, home and supported living settings for older people and for adults with a broad range of health and care needs.”
Debi Marriott-Boam added, “We are confident that the newly created Community Services division will bring a number of benefits in terms of service innovation and faster transfer of learning and best practice with even greater customer focus. It creates a unique opportunity to structure multi-disciplinary teams who can deliver a broad range of person-centred care services in a mix of community and supported living settings. The new division will also maintain a specialist focus on a range of complex conditions."
