Resident’s poem helps home celebrate second anniversary

Home news

Residents, staff and families were joined by the Mayor of Slough Jagjit Grewal and local MP Fiona Mactaggart for a barbecue, a bouncy castle and entertainment to celebrate our second anniversary.

Violet Kotu, our service improvement manager, said: ”Residents and staff invited their families to the day and the children had lots of fun on the bouncy castle. The residents love having children around the place and they look forward to their visits. Several of our local schools send children to sing and chat with them.”

Resident Lillian Kirk read a poem she had written to mark the occasion. Violet said: “Lillian is a wonderful lady - kind, charming and funny. She regularly plays the piano and she is very creative, so we were delighted when she wrote the poem for the day.

Activities co-ordinator Rachel Cresdee said:  “The residents were very excited about the party. Quite a few of them love gardening and made the best of the good weather - planting out shrubs, creating very colourful hanging baskets and sweeping the paths.”
