Treatment Centre voted among top in the country

Company news

Southampton NHS Treatment Centre has been rated among the best in the country according to the views of patients.

Independently run by Care UK on behalf of the NHS, the treatment centre in the Royal South Hants Hospital, Brintons Terrace, scored 96 out of 100 for the levels of respect and dignity patients received from the team of staff and doctors. This was higher than the average score for the top 20% of hospitals in the country – which worked out at 90 points.

The independent survey, carried out for the Department of Health, asked patients to rate all aspects of their hospital experience including cleanliness, quality of food and the level of care received.

98 per cent of patients at Southampton NHS Treatment Centre also said they would recommend the centre to a friend.

General manager, Paula Friend, said: “This is fantastic news for the treatment centre and for people in the Southampton area.

“To get such positive feedback from the patients themselves is a real testament to the outstanding levels of care and services we provide to our NHS patients.

“The staff are very proud of their service and it’s always good to hear that patients value our services highly.”

Pete Snelling, 30, from Bitterne in Southampton, recently visited the centre for treatment. He said: “I couldn’t believe how nice the staff were. I had my own room and the nurses were fantastic, I never felt hassled or rushed and nothing was too much trouble.”
