The team at Lennox House, Islington, have beaten off competition from homes across England and Scotland to win a care award for their work with the public sector.
Care UK, which operates 88 residential care and nursing homes with more than 5,000 residents, named the Lennox House team as winners of its annual national award for their hard work in creating a great quality service and developing excellent relationships with Islington Borough Council and Islington Primary Care Trust.
The home was recently inspected by the Care Quality Commission, an independent national watchdog that grades and monitors all residential care homes. The inspectors praised the levels of care received by residents, the help and support staff gave to residents’ relatives and the home’s cleanliness and hygiene.
Florence Clarke said: “I am very proud of my team. They work hard to bring a smile to the faces of our residents each and every day and they have created a service that people in Islington can be proud of.”
Frances Gibson, Care UK’s Clinical Governance Director said: “Florence and her team have achieved a great deal this year. They have created a service our public sector partners are delighted with and which provides people in Islington with a great service that supports residents and also provides care, advice and support to their relatives too.”
Lennox House provides short and long-term nursing and residential care for older people with dementia and those who are physically frail. Each resident receives very high levels of personalised care and is encouraged to live as independent a life as possible.
