Norfolk House raises cash for Dementia UK

Home news

Norfolk House raised £50 for Dementia UK when they opened their doors to their local community for afternoon tea as part of Time for a Cuppa day, on Monday 27th February.

Time for a Cuppa was about bringing people together across the country to hold an event at home, in the workplace or in the community to help raise much-needed funds to support the work of Dementia UK, a charity dedicated to improving life for people with dementia.

Manager Tasneem Bhatti said: “ We had tea, coffee, cakes and biscuits along with a raffle and entertainment. One of the residents played the piano and we decorated our upstairs activity lounge where we held the event in an Alice in Wonderland theme.

It was well attended and everyone had a good time. We wanted to raise as much as possible for Dementia UK which is a very good cause.”

The afternoon tea event also aimed to raise awareness of issues surrounding dementia.
