Residents at Hadrian House have “gone green” by launching their own recycling centre

Home news

Residents have gone green at Hadrian House in a bid to save the planet for their grandchildren and future generations, with a project that will see the home reduce, reuse and recycle.

We set up a special recycling area in the hallway for residents and visitors to leave their unwanted newspapers, packaging, bottles, plastics and so on for collection.

Our assistant manager Louise Knotts said: “Blaydon Councillor Steve Voncetti kindly performed the opening ceremony for us at a special launch for the new facility on April 27th which included a buffet for residents and their families.

“It was the residents who asked for this facility and we were delighted to provide a specially dedicated area for it. "
