Jubilee box adds to fun at Heatherbrook

Having won a special Jubilee box in a recent competition, we put its contents of decorations, flags and strawberry Queen’s cheesecake to good use in our diamond jubilee celebrations.

Staff made sure that the lounges were decorated with the flags and the bunting and all the things from the prize box.

Our Jubilee party preparations also included making and helping the residents to make, posters to advertise the party on 5th June 2012 and to invite their families and friends to join in the fun

On the day of the Jubilee, we helped the residents to decorate cakes for their tea in the colours of red white and blue which they enjoyed, along with a sea food supper which included special Jubilee plates and cups.

Musical Moves U came in to entertain everyone in the afternoon, getting everyone dancing and singing and there was much use of pom poms, maracas and the bashing of paper plates.

Our TVs were also on throughout the day to make sure everyone could watch the day’s events if they wished. It was a day to remember for all, for years to come.
