A care home in Copthorne, West Sussex which is getting ready to welcome its first residents was the venue for a very special lunch this week.
Gary Davies, vice-president of local voluntary club the Crawley Lions, joined Care UK’s Francis Court team for lunch and brought a bit of Olympic spirit along with him. Gary was accompanied by fellow Lions members Maria Harris who was one of the olympics torch bearers and Ina Martin, a paralympian shot putter.
Georgina Read, Client Relations Manager said: “We are always delighted to welcome the Crawley Lions to the home and are aware of the great work they do within the local community. When Francis Court officially opens its doors to residents, we will be keen to work closely with all kinds of local community groups”.
Georgina continued: “It’s so important that residents still feel a valuable part of the community and our door is always open to local people who want to visit us and take part in our events.”
Care UK, voted Residential Care provider of the Year in 2011, took over Francis Court earlier this year and has now completed extensive refurbishment of the home. Francis Court provides residential and nursing care - including respite care. Residents will benefit from Care UK’s innovative Activity Based Care approach, which is centred around each person’s unique interests, abilities and preferences.
