Luton Administration Manager is runner-up in national healthcare awards

A Luton-based manager supporting an out-of-hours NHS medical team has been named as runner-up in a prestigious award competition for her outstanding contribution to the team’s work.

Jenni Bacchus, who supports the team based at Windsor Street, Luton was among the employees recognised at the national Health Care Awards for their work to constantly improve services and standards for Care UK patients.

The competition, which judges say was the toughest they had seen, was open to Care UK’s 2,900 team members who provide expert care and services to patients at GP practices, diagnostics services, NHS treatment centres, out-of-hours services and prisons across the country.

Judges heard that Jenni started at Care UK in a clerical role and thanks to her professionalism and commitment has progressed to help ensure a high quality out-of-hours service is offered to all patients.

Jenni said she was delighted to be nominated for the Outstanding Contribution Award: “I have worked with the out-of-hours service for 14 years and I am over the moon to receive a nomination. I am very proud to work for Care UK and support the out-of-hours service in our local area.”

The Luton out-of-hours service provides advice, information and treatment for NHS patients who become unwell when their GP surgery is closed. They can arrange home visits or emergency admissions as needed. For further information, visit www.careuk.com/luton-out-hours-service or call 0333 321 8278.
