Fence me in – how a Copthorne care home is working with the community

Home news

The team at Care UK’s Francis Court care home, in Copthorne, have donated £500 to Redehall Preparatory School for a new fence.

Children from the school, in Smallfield, are firm favourites with the residents of Francis Court. The children have visited the home, in Borers Arms Road, to sing and chat, and it was on one of these visits that they heard about the fence that needs replacing.

Customer Relations Manager Katie King said: “The school needs a more modern fence to replace the old wire fence and everyone here wanted to do something to help so the management team has pledged £500.

“Many of our residents have lived in the area all their lives and will have known families that have attended the school, so we thought it would be good to give something back to the children who have given us such pleasure.”

The home’s maintenance man, Chris Smith, was on hand to give advice as the old fence was removed and he was joined by Francis Court resident and local man Keith Smedley.
