Care UK invites the Suffolk community to name three new care homes

Home news

Local people are being invited to help name some of Suffolk’s new care homes. In Ipswich, Mildenhall and Lowestoft communities are being urged to get their thinking caps on to help Care UK name three new homes and wellbeing centres.

The three new homes, once construction is complete in late summer 2014, will be home for up to 220 older people from the Ipswich, Mildenhall, Lowestoft and Beccles communities.

Chris Hopkinson, Regional Operations Director at Care UK said: “We hope that local people will come up with interesting suggestions which will stand the test of time. We really hope this opportunity will fire people's imagination and creativity.”

He added: “Whether local people are inspired by famous figures of the county, key milestones in a town’s history or a family or community story, Care UK welcomes all suggestions and are looking forward to uncovering some interesting tales.”

Entry forms can be downloaded from www.careuk.com/giveourhomeaname The deadline for entries is 20th May 2013 and the top three suggestions for Chantry, Ipswich, Mildenhall and Lowestoft made by members of the public will receive £100 ‘Love2Shop’ vouchers. The final shortlist will feature suggestions from the public, the Care UK team and Care UK residents and their relatives, with a final choice being made in June.

Chris concluded: “Suffolk is an area rich with history, culture and community spirit and this is a great opportunity for some of the local people’s stories to be brought to light.”
