Roll-up for free fete fun in Chelmsford

There will be free family fun for all at Care UK’s Manor Lodge care home, in Chelmsford, on Saturday 27th July, when the residents and team hold their annual summer fete.

There will be a host of traditional activities including rolling the penny, bottle and teddy bear tombolas, bric-a-brac, stalls and face painting as well as entertainment including music provided by the Chelmsford Silver Band, belly dancing and rock and roll and singing provided by some of the residents’ favourite regular entertainers.
Manager Juliana Miles said: “The weather men are predicting fine weather and the team and our residents’ relatives are working hard to ensure the fete will be a great success. They are baking cakes, preparing stalls and Sam, one of my team, has bravely offered to go into the stocks.”

The fun, at the home in Manor Road, runs between 2-5pm and there will be refreshments available throughout including teas, coffees, homemade cakes and hot dogs.

There will also be a stall promoting the work of the Mid Essex Alzheimer’s Society.

Juliana said: “Manor Lodge has many active links with the local community and we have invited the community police team and residents from the nearby sheltered housing development to join us. It should be a truly fun, community event.”
