Summer fun comes to care homes in Wembley and Stanmore

On Friday June 21, Care UK’s homes joined hundreds of others around the country opening their doors for the first National Care Home Open Day, and in Wembley and Stanmore we took the opportunity to join in the celebrations.

A pet show, entertainers and a barbecue were on offer for visitors to Ogilvy Court, Wembley, as part of the traditional summer fete, as well as a chance to look round the home and see the range of activities on offer.

Home Manager San Koromah said: “Residents always enjoy welcoming visitors and they played a major part in organising the open day. It was a really good opportunity to show people what we do day to day.”

At Woodland Hall, in Clamp Hill, Stanmore, Home Manager Kumaree Juggapah said: “We hosted a garden party and barbecue and we were very pleased to have entertainment from the Bentley Wood School Choir and local entertainer Dave Dawson. We had cake and bring and buy stalls, an Alzheimer's Society stall and we were joined by the Mayhew Animal Centre. We were very pleased to welcome everyone to our home.”
