Oak House Chef Manager wins internal award

Earlier this month the RCS (residential care services) Awards took place, an internal awards ceremony which was open to Care UK’s 110 care homes, nursing homes and day and wellbeing centres across the country. Thomas Flont was fortunate enough to be put forward for the Catering award, a category which is open to any catering team or individual in a care home or day centre.

Thomas Flont was nominated by David Adams, Home Manager, as he thought Thomas was such a worthy winner. Below is a short snippet of why David thought Thomas deserved this award:

“Thomas has been working at Oak House for the past four years and since then we have received a 5 star food hygiene rating every year. All of the food that Thomas and his team cook is homemade. Thomas speaks to the residents after each meal to gain their feedback on the meal they have just eaten.”

Thomas Flont subsequently won the Catering award, fending off strong competition from Care UK’s other catering teams and staff in the care homes, nursing homes and day and wellbeing centre’s across the country.
