Paddock House receive prize for “Artist tree” competition

Company news

We are pleased to announce Paddock House Wellbeing Centre as the runners up of Care UK’s “Artist tree” competition. The Autumn competition, which stretched across all care homes and day centres, asked us to reflect the resources that nature provides to support activities and get creative.

As the competition was themed on trees, residents, visitors and staff took part in an imaginary walk in the woods, and from this created a scrap book entitled “Our Tree of Memories”. The scrap book includes stories, memories, poems and photographs, all linked to nature.

The Monday Group at the Wellbeing Centre created a poem called “Our Tree of Life” which introduced the scrap book:

If only trees could talk
What stories they would tell
Everyone a secret
Never to be told

Having picnics in the woods
Children climbing up the trees
Scrumping apples, pinching plums
Conker fights and dirty knees

Seasons ever changing
Reds, golds, yellows, greens
Memories are so precious
Of what our lives have been.

The activities coordinator commented “residents thoroughly enjoyed our nature and tree themed activities and we are so thrilled to have received a prize for the competition.”
