Local police dogs visit residents at Stanley Park

Home news

The residents of Stanley Park thoroughly enjoyed a visit from Durham Constabulary Police Dog Unit.

The working dogs from the bomb and drug units, Tilly the Black Labrador and Louis the Springer Spaniel, proved especially popular.

The hour visit was the first of its kind by the police unit and proved to be of great benefit to all; the obedient and extremely well behaved police dogs loved the attention they received, and the residents appreciated the company of the four-legged friends. Residents Jim Scott and James Dufton found the experience very enjoyable and it provided a great talking point for the rest of the evening.

The visit proved such a success that it will be returning to the home on a monthly basis, the residents are excited about the two new puppy recruits that will be visiting with the unit in November.
