Care UK and Unison reach agreement on pay dispute

Care UK is very pleased to have reached an in principle three year agreement with Unison representatives to address all outstanding issues regarding pay in the local Doncaster learning disability service.

The proposed deal would see all employees receive an immediate above inflation 2% pay rise backdated to October 2014, with agreement on future increases in October 2015 and October 2016 which would be for an increase of 2% or inflation, whichever is the higher, using the Consumer Price index as the measure for inflation. In addition, a settlement payment of £500 each has been agreed for current employees who transferred over from the previous employer.

This agreement, which will go to all Unison members locally with a recommendation to accept, will put the service on a sustainable footing within the reduced budget available from Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council. It is good news for the people we support every day and will give stability and certainty to our team of carers.
