From 11am to 3.30pm local people can visit Mountfitchet House to meet representatives from local charities and support services, who will be on hand with information and practical advice. Visitors can also take the opportunity to relax and unwind with choice of free pampering treatments including hand and head massages, holistic therapies and manicures.
Allison Squires, home manager at Mountfitchet House, said: “Latest figures from Carers UK show one in eight adults are family carers. This amounts to around 6.5 million people who have taken on the care of a loved one, with over one million people caring for more than person. I believe there is a real opportunity for communities to support the fantastic work carers do – work which is often done alongside holding down a job and other family responsibilities.
“At Mountfitchet House, we wanted to play our part in making life a little easier for carers in our local area, so we are hosting an event which gives people the opportunity to seek out support while also enjoying a little time out and a spot of well-deserved pampering. There will also be an opportunity to tour the care home and meet our team. Everyone will be made very welcome, so we would urge people to book their place and come along on Wednesday.”
Situated on the corner of Coltsfield and High Lane, Mountfitchet House provides a range of care services for older people, including residential, nursing and specialist dementia care, as well as short term respite, palliative, and sensitive end of life care.
