Mildenhall community celebrate Care Home Open Day

Home news

In celebration of Care Home Open Day on 19th June, Mildenhall Lodge care home welcomed the community for a day of summer activities.

Mildenhall Lodge was one of thousands of care homes to take part in Care Home Open Day this year, with the aim of challenging perceptions of care homes, developing relationships across the generations and connecting care home residents with even more people in their community.

Paul Draper, home manager at Mildenhall Lodge, said: “We all enjoyed a delicious barbecue, performances from steel band, Juma, and activities that included flower arranging and glass painting.

“It was such a wonderful day and we were thrilled to see so many local people come and see us, including many visiting our home for the first time. It was great to showcase the facilities we have here, as well as strengthen relationships with the wider community.”
