On your marks for sporty summer fete at Halstead care home

The team at Colne View care home in Halstead is opening its doors on Friday 31 July for a fun sports day and its annual summer fete.

From 11am until 3pm, local people are invited to drop in to the care home on Dame Mary Walk off Colchester Road to take part in the sporty activities and to enjoy the summer fete celebrations. 

There will be stalls selling handmade items crafted by residents, as well as a tempting selection cakes created by the weekly bakery club. Entertainment will be provided by Colne View’s residents’ choir which will be performing throughout the day, and younger visitors can take the opportunity to join in the fun and have their faces painted.

David Martins, customer relations manager at Colne View, said: “There is a real buzz around the care home with preparations now well underway for our annual summer fete. This year, we have planned the event to have a sporty theme, with plenty of activities for people of all ages and abilities to take part in.  

“At Colne View it is important for us to build strong relationships with the local community and we hope members of the public will join us for what promises to be a fantastic day of fun and games.”
