A helping hand for people in Stratford-upon-Avon

The team at Ambleside care home, in Stratford-upon-Avon, is inviting local people to attend a free advice-led event to find out more about preventing falls among older people on Friday 20th November. 

From 10.30am to 12.30pm, Harm Gordijn, falls prevention specialist at Falls Management Training, will be discussing tactics for avoiding falls as well as providing guidance on how to create safer environments, reduce balance problems and help maintain independence. 

Dawn Leaver, home manager at Ambleside, said: “Here at Ambleside we have listened to the local community and these are areas where advice and guidance are needed, so we have invited the professionals to join us for a day of information and support. 

“We are looking forward to opening the doors to local people and after the talks, visitors can take the opportunity to meet the team here and to a look around the care home. However, places are limited so I would urge those interested to register their attendance.”
