A helping hand for people in Stroud

Home news

People in Stroud and surrounding areas are invited to attend a legal roadshow at Scarlet House care home in Ebley on Tuesday 17th November when there will be advice about planning the legal and financial aspects of care for loved ones.

From 11am to 12.30pm, the team at Scarlet House on Westwood Road is joining forces with Phillipa Bruce-Kerr, lawyer at Harrison Clark Rickerbys and Andrew Page, financial planner at Ashcourt Rowan for the free event. Phillipa and Andrew will be sharing their knowledge and providing advice about planning long-term future care – whether caring for someone in their own home or looking at residential care.

Pyela Mwale, home manager at Scarlet House, said: “It was recently revealed that by 2030 there will be more than two million people aged 65 and over in the UK with no child living nearby to give care if needed*.  This means more and more people will be worrying about the future care of loved ones and it is essential that family carers are given all the information they need to ensure the legal and financial sides of planning care are in order.

“At Care UK, we understand that having access to the right information and clearly delivered advice can help families make sense of the options available to them.  We have therefore invited Phillipa and Andrew along to lead this free event at Scarlet House. After the event there will be a question and answer session. All are welcome and visitors can also take the opportunity to meet the care team at Scarlet House and to look around the care home if they wish.”

Situated in Ebley, Scarlet House is a state-of-the-art care home designed to deliver the very best standards of care, and to enable residents to live active and fulfilled lives. The home offers a range of services including residential care, specialist dementia care and respite care.
