From 2pm until 4.30pm, Zanya Lapsa from Sussex Community Trust be discussing tactics for avoiding falls as well as providing guidance on creating safer environments, reducing balance problems and helping to maintain independence.
Zanya will be joined by registered dietitian Denise Kennedy from Health Champions who will offer expert advice on nutrition and wellbeing. Denise will provide information on which foods provide the nutrients needed for bone and heart health, as well as which foods can help improve circulation.
Karen Davies, customer relations manager at Francis Court, said: “We have listened to the local community, and falls prevention and nutrition are areas where advice and guidance are regularly sought by those who want care for an older friend or loved one. We have therefore invited two experienced professionals to Francis Court for an afternoon of information and support.
“We are looking forward to opening the doors to local people and, after each of these talks, visitors can take the opportunity to ask questions. There will also be a chance to meet the team at Francis Court and to take a look around the care home. All are welcome, however places are limited so I would urge those interested to register their attendance.”
Situated on Borers Arms Road in Copthorne near Crawley, Francis Court has been designed to support residents to live enjoyable and fulfilling lives. The care home provides residential care for older people, specialist dementia care, and respite stays.
