Free advice event returns to Norwich care home

Home news

The team at Cavell Court will open the doors to the care home on Dragonfly Lane on Tuesday 1st March for the return of its popular free Understanding Dementia event, which has been designed to provide support and practical advice for family carers.

From 2pm-4pm, a dementia specialist from Care UK will be on hand to help people understand what it might be like to live with dementia. There will be information on what dementia is and how memories are lost, as well as useful tips on how to overcome communication barriers – all with the aim of helping people discover positive approaches to caring for loved ones living with dementia.

Everyone who attends the event will have the opportunity to ask questions and discuss their own personal experiences, and there will also be a chance to meet the team at Cavell Court and take a tour of the care home.

Cavell Court home manager, Anita O’Neil, said: “At Cavell Court we strongly believe professional knowledge, insight and shared experiences can make a real difference to the everyday lives of those caring for loved ones loving with dementia.  With the team here committed to offering advice and practical support, we are delighted to invite members of the local community to our Understanding Dementia event.

“Previous events have proven to be incredibly popular, so we are looking forward to welcoming local people to Cavell Court for what promises to be another interesting and inspiring afternoon of information and guidance.”
