Francis Court residents get a kick out of football talk

Home news

Football-loving residents got a treat earlier this month when a local football coach paid them a visit for Sport Relief.

Marcus, one of the coaches at Crawley Town Football Club – known as the ‘Red Devils’ – stopped by to share stories about players, games and to talk with residents about their favourite sports and ways of exercising.

Karen Davies, customer relations manager at Francis Court, says, “Some of our gentlemen at Francis Court love football and have been keen supporters in their day, for both West Ham and Nottingham Forest.

“Marcus encouraged the residents to touch, hold and kick the football, to increase their mobility. Knowing how passionate some of the residents are about football, Marcus kindly provided complimentary tickets to see Crawley Town play the final match of the season. He was very friendly and the residents really took to him, so we’re looking forward to Marcus returning on a monthly basis to talk about other sports and even do a session outside if the weather is good.”
