From 11am until 3pm, the team at Cavell Court will be opening the doors to the care home for a free family-friendly event. The day is in celebration of Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative to create lasting relationships between care homes and their local communities.
Residents and visitors to Cavell Court will enjoy a ‘day by the seaside’, complete with a beach and donkeys. Live entertainment will be provided by a Barber Shop Quartet and there will be chance to spend time with some furry friends from ‘Pets as Therapy’. All those who drop-by can also treat themselves to a traditional barbecue, homemade donuts and ice cream.
Sam Woods, customer relations manager at Cavell Court, said: “Care Home Open Day is about connecting people and enriching the lives of residents through building lasting relationships with the local community across the generations.
“Opening our doors is also a great opportunity to show what life is really like in a modern care home; and we hope to change any preconceptions people might have while also showing everything Cavell Court has to offer.
“We have got a fun day of activities planned and are really looking forward to getting behind Care Home Open Day on Friday 17th June and welcoming the people of Cringleford to be a part of it.”
Visitors to the Care Home Open Day event at Cavell Court will also be able to pick up their copy of Care UK’s Eating as we Age. The latest in a series of free guides for family carers, Eating as we age is packed with hints and tips for keeping healthy and hydrated in older age.
