Farm Lane care home invites people in Fulham to celebrate Care Home Open Day

Care UK’s Farm Lane care home in Fulham is inviting local people to visit the home on Farm Lane on Friday 17th June to join in its celebrations for Care Home Open Day.

From 2pm-5pm, the team at Farm Lane will be opening the doors to the care home for a free family-friendly event. The day is in celebration of Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative to create lasting relationships between care homes and their local communities. 

In honour of The Queen’s 90th birthday, there will be right royal celebration at Farm Lane on Friday. Residents and visitors will be able to enjoy a roof-top terrace barbeque and there will be entertainment to help get everyone in the party spirit. All those who drop-by can tour the home, and meet residents and the Care UK team at Farm Lane.

Gladys Danquah, home manager at Farm Lane, said: “Care Home Open Day is about connecting people and enriching the lives of residents through building lasting relationships with the local community across the generations.  

“Opening our doors is also a great opportunity to show what life is really like in a modern care home; and we hope to change any preconceptions people might have while also showing everything Farm Lane has to offer. 

“We have got a fun day of activities planned and are really looking forward to getting behind Care Home Open Day on Friday 17th June and welcoming the people of Fulham to be a part of it.” 

Visitors to the Care Home Open Day event at Farm Lane will also be able to pick up their copy of Care UK’s Eating as we Age.  The latest in a series of free guides for family carers, Eating as we age is packed with hints and tips for keeping healthy and hydrated in older age.
