From 9.30am to 4pm, the team at Woodland Hall will be opening the doors to the care home for a free family-friendly event. The day is in celebration of Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative to create lasting relationships between care homes and their local communities.
In honour of The Queen’s 90th birthday, there will be right royal celebration at Woodland Hall on Friday. Residents and visitors will be able to enjoy tea and cakes, and there will be entertainment to help everyone get into the party spirit. All those who drop by on the day will also have the opportunity to meet the Care UK team at Woodland Hall and take a tour of the care home.
Jovana Kolangadan, deputy home manager at Woodland Hall, said: “Care Home Open Day is about connecting people and enriching the lives of residents through building lasting relationships with the local community across the generations.
“Opening our doors is also a great opportunity to show what life is really like in a modern care home; and we hope to change any preconceptions people might have while also showing everything Woodland Hall has to offer.
“We have got a fun day of activities planned and are really looking forward to getting behind Care Home Open Day on Friday 17th June and welcoming the people of Stanmore to be a part of it.”
Visitors to the Care Home Open Day event at Woodland Hall will also be able to pick up their copy of Care UK’s Eating as we Age. The latest in a series of free guides for family carers, Eating as we age is packed with hints and tips for keeping healthy and hydrated in older age. The guide can also be downloaded free at www.careuk.com/eat
