TV star Peter Purves finds prize-winning pooches at Framlingham care home

Home news

People in Framlingham enjoyed an action-packed family fun day at Mills Meadow care home with a special visit from TV presenter Peter Purves.

The former Blue Peter and Crufts presenter helped the care home residents to judge and award prizes to the town’s most handsome dog, best puppy and talented canine among others at the care home’s dog show on Saturday July 23.

As well as a dog show, there was a barbecue, stalls and raffle as well as opportunities for visitors to take a look around Mills Meadow and meet the Care UK team. The family fun day raised over £400 for the Rotary Club of Framlingham’s Hour Community Project, which encourages skilled tradespeople to donate an hour of their time to help a local neighbour in need.

Marie Reeve, home manager at Mills Meadow, said: “It was brilliant to see such a great turnout of local people, coming together to join us for our family fun day. A special thanks to Peter Purves who was a fantastic judge at our dog show, and to everyone who helped us raise money for the vital community work of the Hour Community Project.”
