Charity is a piece of cake for Mountfitchet House

Home news

A local care home in Stansted whisked up more than £370 for charity after taking part in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning recently.

The Care UK team at Mountfitchet House on Coltsfield opened its doors for its very own Bake Off to help raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The local community dropped into the care home and enjoyed a leisurely cuppa and homemade cakes, all of which were available for a donation to the charity. The Care UK team at Mountfitchet House all took part in creating their own show stoppers, with receptionist Giselle Wood being crowned Star Baker.

Allison Squires, home manager at Mountfitchet House, said: “We want to say a big thank you to everyone that came along to our coffee morning and helped us raise a total of more than £370 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

“It was great to join forces with the local community and give something back to a charity which focuses on helping and supporting people in the area.”
