Free advice-led dementia event in Framlingham

Home news

Mills Meadow care home is inviting the local community to a free advice-led event designed to provide support and practical advice for families caring for those with dementia, on Thursday 1st December from 2pm-4pm.

Dr Nori Graham, a dementia specialist, will provide support and practical advice for families caring for those with dementia and also help people understand what it might be like to live with dementia.

There will be information on what dementia is and how memories are lost, as well as useful tips on how to overcome communication barriers – with the aim of helping people discover positive approaches to caring for loved ones living with dementia.

After the event there will be a Q&A session, and the chance to meet the team at Mills Meadow and take a tour of the care home. Complimentary refreshments will also be provided.

Marie Reeve, home manager at Mills Meadow, said: “At Mills Meadow we strongly believe professional knowledge, insight and shared experiences can make a real difference to the everyday lives of those caring for loved ones living with dementia. With the team here committed to offering advice and practical support, we are delighted to invite members of the local community to our Understanding Dementia event.

“We are looking forward to welcoming local people to Mills Meadow for what promises to be an interesting and inspiring afternoon of information and guidance.”
