The team opened the doors to the care home for the family-friendly event in celebration of Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative to create lasting relationships between care homes and their local communities.
Cavell Court hosted an ‘All American’ barbecue in the garden, and head chef, Thomas Barnes, prepared an array of freshly cooked foods from around the world, including traditional Spanish tapas and Indian specialities. There was also live entertainment from local singer, Kyle.
Dorothy Pye, home manager at Cavell Court, said: “We had a wonderful afternoon celebrating Care Home Open Day with the local community. The event was a brilliant opportunity to break down preconceptions about care home life and showcase the warm and welcoming care environment here at Cavell Court.
“The residents and guests really enjoying sampling the different dishes, and everyone got into the party spirit with music from Kyle. We look forward to welcoming the people of Cringleford to join us again very soon.”
