Join Bowes House for summer fun to celebrate Care Home Open Day

Home news

Bowes House is inviting local people to visit the home on Friday 16th June to join in its celebrations for Care Home Open Day.

From 10.30am-4pm, the team at Bowes House will be opening the doors to the care home for a free family-friendly event. The day is in celebration of Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative to create lasting relationships between care homes and their local communities.

Bowes House has organised a summer garden party to celebrate the open day. As well as enjoying delicious refreshments, including traditional Sussex cream tea, there will be free antique valuations for guests carried out by a local expert from 10.30am. The Swingtime Sweethearts will be performing at 2.30pm, and guests will also be able to do a spot of shopping at the various stalls selling handmade gifts, homemade cakes, and plants and produce grown by the green-fingered residents at Bowes House.

Helena Barrow, home manager at Bowes House, said: “Care Home Open Day is about connecting people and enriching the lives of residents through lasting relationships with the local community across the generations.

“We cannot wait to open our doors to the community to showcase everything Bowes House has to offer and the difference care homes make to residents’ lives and their wellbeing.  We have planned a fun day for all the family and a warm welcome awaits the people of Hailsham.”
