Residents let off steam at Severn Valley Railway

Home news

Residents at Brook Court recently had a nostalgic step back in time when they visited their local train station, the Severn Valley Railway – a full-size standard-gauge railway line, running regular, mainly steam-hauled, passenger trains between Kidderminster and Bridgnorth.

After a gentle stroll to the station, residents were able to view the steam trains in their full glory evoking memories from a bygone era.  The train station also had memorabilia on display, turning the clocks back to 1940s wartime Britain, complete with air raid shelter!  This proved very popular with residents who thoroughly enjoyed going inside, recalling and sharing their wartime memories with us all.

After delicious ice creams and refreshing drinks on the platform, we took a leisurely walk home to tell our friends all about our day out.
