'Outstanding' and award-winning
Our skilled team takes pride in delivering the very highest quality residential, dementia and nursing care. We also offer short-term respite and specialised end-of-life care. We were thrilled to be rated 'good' overall by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in January 2020 and to receive an 'outstanding' rating for the caring nature of our team.
Our Home Manager, Gill Pratt, has led the Brook Court team since the home opened, and was delighted to recently win the ‘Dementia Care Manager of the Year’ award at the 2020 National Dementia Awards. Gill has created a home with a strong family atmosphere, where every colleague is committed to enabling your loved one to live a fulfilling life.
The market town of Kidderminster has excellent transport links and is easily accessible from the surrounding regions, including Birmingham, Worcester and Cheltenham.
We support residents to be independent
The glowing comments in the caring section of our CQC report include, 'People had developed meaningful and caring relationships with staff [and] these relationships had made a real difference to people's lives. The team's dedicated, informed and caring approach had enabled people to enjoy their current life and regain elements of independence. The whole team were committed to providing a welcoming and inclusive environment where diverse lifestyles were celebrated, and people were empowered to be themselves.'
Brook Court residents live fulfilling lives
The CQC report highlights how a colleague spent their own time researching how to support a resident to reconnect with their past and enjoy a day celebrating their professional achievements. The resident had thoroughly enjoyed the day and had photographs to treasure the memory.
A Kidderminster care home that feels like home
When you visit Brook Court, you’ll discover an impressive range of hotel-style facilities, including a cinema, a hair and beauty salon, and a welcoming coffee shop. You’ll find residents enjoying a variety of activities too, including pamper sessions, singalongs, art classes and visits from therapy animals.
Brook Court residents and their families also make decisions about their care and changes to the home. At residents’ request we’ve recently created a seaside-themed garden and even adopted pets, including our much-loved greyhound, Honey. A resident says Brook Court “feels very much my home. It's most certainly a good place to live.”
