On Thursday 7th September, from 2pm-4pm, the team at Skylark House will open the doors to the care home on St Marks Lane for its free ‘Dementia Adventure’ event.
The event, hosted by dementia specialist, Aimee Day, is part of an ongoing partnership between Care UK and Dementia Adventure, and is designed to help family members and carers gain a clearer understanding of dementia.
Aimee will be on hand to provide knowledge and practical tips for those caring for someone living with dementia. The event also aims to help people understand how memories are lost, and will offer guidance on how to overcome communication barriers.
After the event, those who attend will also have the opportunity to meet the team at Skylark House and take a tour of the care home.
Skylark House home manager, Devendra Lallchand, said: “Dementia Adventure is an incredibly exciting organisation which really does make a positive difference to the lives of carers and people living with dementia. By working together we can continue to support people in Horsham affected by the condition, ensuring those living with dementia remain connected and lead active and fulfilled lives.
“Previous events have proven to be incredibly popular, and we’re delighted to welcome back the local community and Dementia Adventure for what promises to be another interesting afternoon of information and guidance.”
