Charlotte House hosts falls prevention event

Home news

Charlotte House is holding a free event to provide information about preventing falls among older people.

On Thursday 7th December, from 2pm-4pm, Charlotte House is welcoming experts to give advice to the community at a free talk. Representatives from Hounslow Borough, Telecare, and CarePlace will be visiting the home to offer guidance and information on preventing falls and maintaining independence.

As well as discussing the common causes of slips and trips, Harpreet, Sharon and Caroline will be on hand to provide expert advice on how to create safer environments for older people, as well as discussing the activities and exercises that individuals and their relatives can implement to help improve their loved ones’ balance.

After the event there will be a Q&A session, and those who attend will also have the opportunity to meet the team at Charlotte House and take a tour of the care home if they wish.

Charlotte House home manager, Zoe Smith, said: “Here at Charlotte House, we seek to provide in-depth advice to people in the local community on topics relating to our work. Falls prevention is very important to the team, and to the wellbeing of the residents and older people generally, as accidental falls can occasionally lead to further health issues.

“It is imperative we create a safe environment for older people in the community, and ensure that family and friends have the correct information to prevent accidents, so we are looking forward to welcoming local people to Charlotte House for what promises to be another interesting and inspiring afternoon of information and guidance.”
