On Thursday 22nd February, from 2pm-4pm, Ferndown Manor will open the doors to the care home for its free ‘How we care’ event.
Following the launch of Care UK’s new guide for carers, A helping hand, the event aims to provide guidance and support to families caring for a loved one. It also explores the different ways in which carers can ensure they maintain their own health and wellbeing.
The team at Ferndown Manor will be on hand to discuss topics within the guide in further detail, including types of care and what a typical day at Ferndown Manor looks like. Different sources of support available to carers in Ferndown will also be signposted.
After the event there will be a Q&A session, and those who attend will also have the opportunity to meet the team at Ferndown Manor and take a tour of the care home.
Ferndown Manor home manager, Janet Lewis, said: “Here at Ferndown Manor we strongly believe that being informed and sharing experiences can make a real difference to those caring for a loved one. Similar events have proven to be incredibly popular, so we are looking forward to welcoming local people to Ferndown Manor for what promises to be an interesting and inspiring afternoon of information and guidance.
“As well as having the opportunity to discuss a number of topics with the team at Ferndown Manor, those who attend the event will also be able to pick up a copy of the new guide, A helping hand, to take away with them.”
