Mildenhall Lodge invites community to celebrate outstanding results

Home news

Mildenhall Lodge is inviting the local community to raise a glass in celebration of its recent ‘outstanding’ rating from the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

From 11am-1pm on Friday 23rd March, the home will open its doors to local people for a commemorative event to celebrate the achievement.

Earlier this year The Care Quality Commission’s (CQC) awarded Care UK’s Mildenhall Lodge ‘outstanding’ in both its responsiveness and in having a well-led service, resulting in an overall ‘outstanding’ rating.

Visitors are invited to join the celebrations which will include welcome drinks, an official ceremony to mark the occasion, followed by a classical music performance.

Katy Hughes, home manager at Mildenhall Lodge, said: “We were absolutely delighted when we were named ‘outstanding’ by the CQC – the team and I haven’t stopped smiling since and it is truly testament to the team’s continued hard work in making this a reality.

“We are really proud of the environment we have created at Mildenhall Lodge and the home from home it has become for the residents, so we wanted to shout about it as much as possible and celebrate with the residents, friends and family. We hope the local community will join us for what’s set to be a fun day of celebrations.”

During the inspection, the home received praise for being a hive of activity in the communal areas including the Lark Café and the in-house pub, named ‘QE2 Tavern’ by the residents. Inspectors commented on how Mildenhall Lodge empowers residents with a voting system and ‘resident ambassador’ – the home even has its own canine relations manager in the form of a rescue greyhound named Sinbad.
