On Friday 20th April, from 2pm-4.30pm, the team at Ferndown Manor will be opening the doors to the care home for a free family-friendly event. The day is in celebration of Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative to create lasting relationships between care homes and their local communities.
Ferndown Manor has organised a Commonwealth themed party to celebrate the open day. There will be homemade bunting, inspired by countries from around the Commonwealth, decorating the home, and visitors can look forward to live music from entertainer and pianist Neil Zebedee.
There will also be a variety of dishes and refreshments with recipes from Canada, India, Australia and the Caribbean, freshly prepared by the home’s head chef. Visitors will also have a chance to meet Ferndown Manor’s friendly team, and the day is also a great opportunity for the team, residents and visitors to celebrate the home’s new Top 20 Care Homes award for South West England.
Janet Lewis, home manager at Ferndown Manor, said: “Care Home Open Day provides residents and the Care UK team with a fantastic opportunity to welcome the local community to the home. Residents have really enjoyed decorating Ferndown Manor with homemade bunting, inspired by countries from around the Commonwealth. We hope that the people of Ferndown will join us in making this year’s event one to remember.”
