On Friday 20th April, from 10.30am-4pm, the team at Franklin House will be opening the doors to the care home for a free family-friendly event. The day is in celebration of Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative to create lasting relationships between care homes and their local communities.
To commemorate the Queen’s 92nd birthday, Franklin House has organised a royal-inspired party to celebrate the open day. With homemade crowns at the ready, entertainment will include a cooking session with the home’s baking club, a reading from Christine from West Drayton Library, and a reminiscence activity in the morning. In the afternoon, visitors can enjoy live entertainment as well as complementary refreshments and cream teas.
The day will be topped off with a visit from the Mayor of Hillingdon, Councillor Carol Melvin.
Mathew V Mathew, home manager at Franklin House, said: “At Franklin House, we’re always looking for ways to get to know our neighbours better and build relationships with the local community. Care Home Open Day is a brilliant way of bringing generations together for a fun-filled day, showcasing all that the home has to offer.
“We look forward to welcoming the people of West Drayton for what promises to be another fantastic open day.”
