On Saturday 21st April, from 2pm-4pm, the team at Highmarket House will be opening the doors to the care home for a free family-friendly event. The day is in celebration of Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative to create lasting relationships between care homes and their local communities.
To commemorate the Queen’s 92nd birthday, Highmarket House has organised a traditional afternoon tea party to celebrate the open day. With homemade crowns at the ready, entertainment will include a special visit from local children’s home Magnolia house. There will also be fun for all the family with games and a reminiscence sharing session and visitors will have a change to meet Highmarket House’s friendly team.
Dawn Covill, home manager at Highmarket House, said: “Care Home Open Day is about connecting people and enriching the lives of residents by building lasting relationships with the local community that spans the generations.
“We cannot wait to open our doors to showcase everything Highmarket House has to offer, and the difference care homes can make to peoples’ lives and their wellbeing. Residents have enjoyed creating homemade crowns ahead of the royal celebration, and we look forward to welcoming the people of Banbury for what promises to be a fun-filled day.”
